Cancer Connection works to provide Alaskans with an array of resources to help navigate the cancer support world. Below are a few of the many resources that are available for you and your family/friends. If you have questions, please contact us.

American Cancer Society. Helpline, lodging assistance, support and other resources. https://www.cancer.org/support-programs-and-services
Angel flight travel for Alaskans Angel Flight West’s network of volunteer pilots provide free medical transportation to people in need. https://angelflightwest.org/
Aurora Integrated Oncology Foundation Patient Support Fund Program. Assistance for expenses such as transportation, lodging, basic necessities, some medical expenses, and other items that are necessary for care. https://aiofak.org/patient-support-fund-program/
Bartlett House. (next to Bartlett Regional Hospital). 796-8900. Rates are $75 per night with a 7-day maximum stay (exceptions on a case by case basis). Call for availability. Stays are on a 1st come, 1st served basis, for Alaska residents only. Cash or credit card accepted. If patient has a Medicaid voucher – housing is free + plus meals @ cafeteria.
Cancer Connection’s Seattle Apartment. 1 bedroom, fully furnished apartment close to Virginia Mason & Swedish Hospitals. $95 per night; drops to $75 a night if stay is more than 2 weeks. For clients who qualify for Travel Assistance Program. The Policy & Application info can be found on website. (907) 796-2273
Cancer Connection Travel Assistance Program. Travel grants up to $750 each year for cancer care travel-related expenses for Southeast Alaska residents. Expenses can include airfare, ferry costs, lodging, and ground transportation. Receipts required.(907) 796-2273.

Juneau International Hostel. Year-round accommodations in separate dormitories for men and women, a family room, a comfortable common room with fire place, cooking facilities, laundry, lockers, bike rack, storage and free internet service. Handicap accessible. www.juneauhostel.net
Southeast Radiation Oncology patient housing (Juneau). The patient may stay during the weeks of treatment at Southeast Radiation Oncology Center. Bartlett Medical Oncology Center. Medical team guides patients through their care, working in partnership with primary care providers, Alaska Women's Cancer Care, and Southeast Radiation Oncology Center. https://bartletthospital.org/services/oncology

PeaceHealth “Pinky" Brindle Cancer Resource Center provides patients and their loved ones with free information, emotional support and community resources to better navigate a cancer diagnosis.
Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, with primary care clinics throughout Southeast, has a social worker and a social services navigator who are not oncology-specific.
Southeast Radiation Oncology Center offers leading-edge radiation therapy and cancer care navigation services. Located in Juneau.

Sitka Cancer Survivors Society
The Suz Fund Health Scholarship provides health scholarships of up to $500 to Alaskans facing cancer, helping to cover costs for traditional or alternative treatments and wellness services not covered by insurance

Counseling Support for Southeast Alaskans. For those wishing to seek professional help dealing with cancer-related issues, Cancer Connection will reimburse two counseling sessions at the rate of up to $165 per session. Cancer Connection (907)796-2273.

Salon 2211 Attn: Kayla (owner) 789-2211 Mendenhall Mall in Juneau Kayla can style & clean wigs for cancer patients free of charge. She is also trained & willing to show cancer patients how to “draw on” eyebrows free of charge. Refer cancer patient to contact Kayla to make arrangements for services.
