Men’s Health Forum Highlights:
Latest Treatments for Prostate Disease

“Heart health is prostate health,” was part of the message at Centennial Hall March 31 during this year’s Men’s Health Forum, presented by Cancer Connection.

This year’s forum featured Robert C. Allen, M.D., of the Alaska Urological Institute, who discussed the use of robotics in the surgical treatment of prostate cancer; and William Clark, M.D., also of AUI, discussing the latest research in the treatment of prostate cancer. Both presentations were followed by questions from the audience.

Tish Griffin Satre, President of Cancer Connection, also introduced the audience to Juneau’s newest urologist, Dr. Michael Saltzman, who opened Southeast Urology LLC in Juneau this week.

This year’s Men’s Health Forum was sponsored by Cancer Connection, Bartlett Regional Hospital, Alaska Urological Institute, Matt Knutson of InterDesign, and GlaxoSmithKline. The forum was open to the public, and approximately 75 people attended. It was another another terrific year of collaboration and great information between Cancer Connection and BRH, bringing the most recent health education and research in men's prostate health to our community.
