I have been the Vice President & Corporate Secretary at Sealaska Corporation since January 2004. I serve the Board of Directors and also as a liaison between the Board and the management of Sealaska, maintaining vital corporate records and governance. I am an original Sealaska shareholder, and am honored to work on behalf of the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian tribal member shareholders of the corporation. Prior to moving to Juneau to work for Sealaska, I was a grant administrator at a private philanthropic foundation in New York City.
My volunteer experience includes Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation trustee 2009 to present, Cancer Connection Board Member 2008 to present, Big Brothers Big Sister liaison 2008 to present, United Way Day of Caring volunteer 2004 to present, KTOO member an fundraising volunteer 2004 to present, and KTOO Board Member 2005 – 2007. I see a distinct need for greater awareness regarding cancer prevention and resources in the Alaska Native community and hope my involvement with Cancer Connection can lead to communication inroads to this population. As a breast cancer survivor, I bring my own unique experience and understanding of this illness to others, with a desire to help those on their own cancer journey navigate these very difficult waters.
