Men's Health Forum: Topic: Prostate Cancer; Robotics, Research, & Treatment. Wednesday, March 31, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Event and snacks are free and open to the public. Keynote speakers: Robert C. Allen, MD; and William Clark, MD of the Alaska Urological Institute.

Women Survivors of Cancer Retreat: April 24-25, 9 a.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Shrine of St. Therese. Topic: "Using Cancer for Personal Transformation," facilitated by Dr. Astrid Pujari, keynote speaker from the '09 health forum. Workshops include self care, group sharing, nutrition, support, balance, and yoga. Cost: $75 per person; includes meals, snacks, and linens. Scholarships are available.

This event is a collaboration between Cancer Connection and Team Survivor Perseverance. Whether your journey is current or years out, take advantage of this opportunity to support and reflect. We will give priority to those who have not attended a past retreat. Call Cancer Connection now at 796-2273 to reserve your space, or e-mail. There is a limit of 22 participants.

National Cancer Survivors Day and Caregivers Luncheon: June 6. Walk begins at 11 a.m. and lunch starts at noon at the Baranof. Awards will be given for Medical Professional of the Year, Survivor of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. The luncheon and the walk are free but we'd love an RSVP at 796-2273.

Beat the Odds: A Women's Race Against Breast Cancer, August 28, 9 a.m. at Riverbend Community School. Registration begins August 1st. Cost: $20 for ages 13 and under, and $25 for ages 14 and up. Register at JRC, The Alaska Club, Foggy Mountain Shop, and Nugget Alaskan Outfitter.
